I have seen lots of samples using the new Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Die [Holiday Mini catalog on pg 11].  At our last Mile High Stamper meeting we made pumpkin boxes.

The card stock is Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green.  We used the Work of Art stamp set for the stripes on the pumpkin boxes using Pumpkin Pie ink.

Rubber Ducky Birthday - Altered Spools for JoAnn's Theme: "Vintage"

Here are the Altered Spools for JoAnn's Birthday Theme: "Vintage"

I made the first spool.  No stamping on this one.  The spool was painted pink and a cameo added, string of pearls, vintage lace, silk flowers, and a white feather.  I was happy with how it turned out.  I always use E600 glue so my projects won't fall apart.  I spend hours holding pieces in place while they dried.  The Lace, Flowers and Pearl Rhinestone Jewels  are from a Stampin' Up! kit.  I love the lace!!!:)

There is a white feather
behind the lace and flowers.

Dawn used her Dremel to hollow out the
inside of the spool and made it into a mini
treasure box. What a great and fun idea.

The hardware is a wonderful idea!
Such creativity!

just love the stick pins. Great idea!

Kathy does such a wonderful job
of altering anything!!!!

Sunflowers are JoAnn's favorite
flower.  Lovely!

Nicole loves Graphic 45 paper.  Love the vibrant
colors.

   Love the yellow roses!

And now for the grand finale... JoAnn is displaying her "Vintage" Birthday Spools in a configuration box on top of an antique hutch.  LOVE IT!

Two birthdays down, seven to go.  :)

I made this birthday Spool for Dawn Free's birthday.  Her Theme was "Surprise Me".  She has koy fish in her little fish pond and she has a cute little black kitty...so thought this would be fun.  I used the kitties from the Storybook Friends stamp set.  I like how it turned out.

WOW!  What a great bunch of spools!!!!  I have such a Wonderful and Creative group of friends!!!  I feel blessed.  There will be 9 sets of spools for this year.  Stay Tuned.  :)
